Parents of Catharina Snyder Busch

Johann Henrich (1701-c.1790) and Catharina Snyder (b. c.1709) Busch and other Ancestors of Catharina Snyder Busch

Key words: Henry Busch, Johann Henrich Busch, Henry and Catharina Busch, Henry and Catharina Snyder Busch, Henrich and Catharina Busch

Henrich (or Henry) Busch married Catharina Snyder, probably in Fishkill4 (southern Dutchess County), New York when Catharina was only about 14 years old.  They had the following children:1

Maria  b. c.1724, m. 6 Dec 1741 at the Fishkill Reformed Church, Jacob Sharpenstein.
Margaretha  b. 22 Feb 1726, m. Jacob Cronkhite
Christina  b. 18 Aug 1729, died in infancy.
Daniel  b. 8 Oct 1730, probably m. Elizabeth
Johannes  b. c.1732, m. 21 Nov 1754 Hellegonde Van Wagenen
Magdalena  b. c.1735.
Catharina  b. 16 Nov 1740, m. 26 Oct 1788 in Dutchess Co., NY, Caleb Husted
Henry  b. 14 Mar 1743, possibly m. Neeltjen Middagh
Christina  b. 12 Oct 1745, m. John DeGraff
Elizabeth  4 Feb 1752 - 21 Mar 1838, possibly m. Abraham Secord
Jacob  b. c.1754

The family lived near William Lossings (the location where Margaretha was christened) in 1726.  In 1735, Magdalena was christened at Rhinebeck and in 1741 Catharina was christened in the Clove.  The family name was also spelled "Bush".  The son Henry was a Loyalist during the Revolutionary War and was exiled.

Henry Bush wrote his will 10 Jul 1780 and was apparently living in Dutchess County near his daughter Maria Sharpsteen in 1790.3  Henry's will was probated 18 Jan 1791,1 so he probably died late in the year 1790.

The pedigree sheet below2 outlines the ancestry of Catharina Snyder Busch.  None of the information is currently documented here, but I will add references as I get them.
